Orchestra Operations

Over the past few summers, I have had the opportunity to work at the Brevard Music Center and at Opera Theatre St. Louis within their orchestra programs.  These positions have allowed me to focus on work surrounding the orchestra and its management.

This summer, I have the opportunity to be the Assistant Production Manager of Orchestra at the Brevard Music Center.  In this position, I oversee hundreds of practice rooms and all performances that occur at our two main performance spaces, the flexible Parker Concert Hall and the large, open-air Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium.  I created Orchestra Layouts for each performance and distributed these as needed.  In total, I oversee ~130 events and performances from late May through late August.

During my first season at Brevard Music Center, I held the title of Assistant Orchestra Operations Manager.  This meant I, along with the Orchestra Operations Manager, was responsible for all rehearsals happening within our largest performance space, the Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium.  I facilitated communication between Maestros and the rest of production and oversaw fast-paced, large-scale transitions of the space.  Additionally, myself and the Orchestra Operations manager were in charge of ensuring all ~100 practice facilities on campus were provided with the necessary resources & equipment.
